In my Gender and US militarism course, my students are learning about the relationship between gender and US wars, military engagements, and communities. While focusing on key concepts such as domesticity, paternalism, sexuality, and citizenship we examine not only the experiences of women but how constructions of masculinity and femininity have shaped militarization and defined the US nation.
